The long-term shirt sponsorship of Real Madrid has been fundamental in establishing bwin as Europe’s leading online gaming brand and has been one of the most-successful partnerships in football, helping Real Madrid to deliver two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups and the Copa del Rey.

As official online gaming and betting partner, we have exclusive advertising rights on the club's online platforms. Real Madrid won the Spanish league title in the season 2011/12. It was the 32nd time since 1932 that the title had gone to the capital’s biggest football club. The Madrilenes celebrated their first major success in 1905, only three years after the club’s founding, when they took the Copa del Rey. Since then, the Spanish Cup has gone their way a further 17 times.

At European level, the players of the Madrid Club de Fútbol, which was granted the title "Real", meaning royal, in 1920, have been fighting at the top since the mid-1950s and have taken nine triumphs in the European Champions Cup and Champions League, two UEFA Cup victories and three wins in the Club World Cup. This makes the club the best club of the 20th century.

Over the past 100 years, numerous icons of world football have donned the legendary white jerseys, which earned the club the nickname "white ballet" in the 1950s. The most famous among them include Alfredo di Stefano (most goals scored for the club), Ferenc Puskás, Günter Netzer, Paul Breitner, Jose Antonio Camacho, Manuel Sanchis jun. (most games played for the club), Michel, Bernd Schuster, Emilio Butragueño, Luis Figo, Raúl, Roberto Carlos, Zinedine Zidane, and David Beckham.

In the current season, Real Madrid are aiming for renewed success in the Primera Division and Copa del Rey as well as their tenth Champions League title.

spectacular stadium”, said Florentino Pérez.

The Santiago Bernabéu will change its aspect in the coming years as it carries on being a worldwide reference for both sport and architecture. The project lead by GMP and L35 Ribas won the competition held to design a stadium that will become an international icon.

In the words of Florentino Pérez, the new Santiago Bernabéu “will be a privileged territory for the emotions and pride of our fans. We want it to be the best stadium in the world, with maximum comfort, an icon of architecture and cutting edge. The best stadium is a unique position, and it will be a world symbol. A special stadium, unique and spectacular”.

WE WANT IT TO BE THE BEST STADIUM IN THE WORLD.

“Four world-renowned teams presented proposals. But we had to chose one, and we opted for the one submitted by GMP and L35 Ribas. This cutting edge project perfectly reflects the objectives that we wanted. It possesses great beauty and the possibility of fitting it together with our sporting development calendar”.

Volkwin Marg
For his part, Volkwin Marg, founder and owner of GMP said: “We have had the honour of participating in the construction of more than 20 stadiums, but this is the most important project of our career. We present the most important stadium of a new generation. The design reflects the values of the legendary club that is Real Madrid. Also, the removable roof allows the enjoyment of different events with different purposes. Sporting, cultural and leisure events that will bring all sorts of different people to the building who previously had never even thought of going”.

He is the squad's fourth top-scorer after Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale.

With his goal against Borussia Dortmund, Isco reached double figures for the Whites, confirming himself as one of the top-scorers in Ancelotti's squad. The midfielder is the fourth player to reach ten goals this season after Cristiano Ronaldo (45), Benzema (23) and Bale (17).

The Andalusian's first goal for Real Madrid came in his debut against Betis, when he scored the winning goal against the verdiblancos in the Santiago Bernabéu. In his first Champions League match for the Whites he also found the net, contributing to the 6-1 rout of Galatasaray. Seven of his ten goals have come in La Liga and the other three in the Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund returned to the Bernabéu one season after their last visit and Real Madrid were well aware that their best chance of reaching the semi-finals lay in a good result in front of their home fans in the first leg. The Whites, who have now played 17 matches at home without losing, only needed three minutes to demonstrate why and take an early lead. Benzema received the ball in the corner, picked out Carvajal and the academy graduate played in Bale, who charged into the area and subtly punted the ball past Weidenfeller.

The home side were running rings around their opponents and had the German box under siege. The next two chances fell to Cristiano Ronaldo. His shot from the edge of the box was seen off by the visiting keeper after 10 minutes, and the shot-stopper produced another great save two minutes later from a free-kick from the Portuguese striker. Pepe could have scored too in the 14th minute, but a full-stretch Weidenfeller stopped his header. The German keeper was, without doubt, the star of his team.

IT WAS 14 YEARS SINCE REAL MADRID HAD LAST SCORED AS QUICKLY IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE KNOCKOUT STAGES.

Borussia Dortmund barely created any danger. They were still yet to have a shot on goal and were reduced to seeing off the home-team's persistent attacks, but before half an hour was up, the Whites had their second. Isco controlled the ball on the edge of the area, lifted his head and conjured up a precise shot that not even Weidenfeller at full stretch was able to stop on its way to the back of the net in the 27th minute.

Real Madrid was now winning 2-0, the result that Modric called "excellent" in a press conference the previous day, but given what was happening on the pitch it looked like a meagre lead. And even more so after Bale's free-kick, which forced another superb stop from the German keeper when the clock read 30. It was a great first half for Real Madrid. There were 45 minutes left to play and there were two objectives; to increase the lead and, above all, not to concede.

Cristiano Ronaldo makes history in the competition once more
While in the first half it took three minutes to open the scoring, they were close to finding the net after two in the second. Bale was at the centre of it again, but this time Weidenfeller came out on top of the one-on-one. However, he was powerless ten minutes later. It was a sublime move from Modric, who left Cristiano Ronaldo alone in front of the visiting goalkeeper. The Portuguese was on target, scoring his fourteenth goal in the competition to equal the record for goals scored in one edition of the tournament.

It then became an end-to-end match. It could have gone from 3-0 to 3-1 in a move in which Pepe produced a timely tackle after 59 minutes, or 4-0 if Weidenfeller had not been there once more to see off a wicked Benzema volley from the edge of the box after 61 minutes of play, but there were no more goals in a match from which Cristiano Ronaldo had to withdraw with a niggle. Real Madrid has taken a giant step towards the semis. The tie will be wrapped up next week in Signal Iduna Park.
